Deepwatch Continues Momentum with Record Growth in 2021

Adds Two Cybersecurity Leaders to Board of Advisors

DENVER, February 8, 2022Deepwatch, the leader in advanced managed detection and response (MDR) security, closes out another successful year exemplified by monumental growth and significant company milestones including doubling the number of new customers, expanding the employee base, and adding two industry veterans to the Board of Advisors.

“We’re proud and excited about our continued growth, and more meaningfully, this is a testament to the importance of the work we’re doing at Deepwatch,” said Charlie Thomas, CEO of Deepwatch. “Organizations depend on us to protect their brand, reputation, network and sensitive data, and we’re proud to be that partner. In-house security teams are under tremendous pressure, and we’re well-positioned to partner with them and further scale our business to continue meeting the growing needs for MDR and security services that bring peace of mind in this volatile world of cyber threats.”

Deepwatch achieved impressive results while demonstrating its dedication to helping customers navigate the increasingly complex threat landscape and a shortage of cybersecurity professionals. The increased need for MDR services, coupled with Deepwatch Experts and advanced technology platform, contributed to the doubling of new logos won for the year and the strongest Q4 to date.

Key business growth highlights include:

  • 50% YoY sales growth ending 2021 on record-breaking Q4
  • 444% growth in sales with new reseller partners, representing significant expansion of Deepwatch’s channel partner ecosystem
  • Acquisition of net new customer organizations increased 110% YoY
  • More than two thirds of customers (68%) expanded their service with Deepwatch in 2021 with endpoint detection and response (EDR) or vulnerability management (VM) services in addition to MDR
  • Expanded go-to-market team by 360% including the addition of a new CMO and CRO
  • Number of employees grew 90%, bringing the total number of employees to over 400

Deepwatch welcomes two new members to its advisory board

To bolster continued growth and success, Deepwatch’s Board of Advisors has expanded with the additions of Tracey Newell, distinguished board member at SailPoint, SumoLogic, and others, and Matt Chiodi, chief security officer of public cloud at Palo Alto Networks.

Newell is the former president of Informatica, responsible for global sales, marketing, sales operations and customer success. Prior to joining Informatica, she was EVP of global field operations at Proofpoint, leading the company through periods of hyper-growth.

“Deepwatch has quickly proven to be invaluable partners to their customers as evolving cyber threats result in unprecedented demands on their security teams,” said Newell. “I’m excited by the company’s exceptional talent and commitment to delivering customer value, and look forward to joining the advisory board and guiding Deepwatch on a path of further growth.”

Matt Chiodi has nearly two decades of security leadership experience and is currently the chief security officer of public cloud at Palo Alto Networks. He works with organizations to develop and implement security strategy for public cloud adoption and maturity and is also currently on faculty at IANS Research.

“I am impressed to see how much innovation and expertise Deepwatch pours into their services and technology platform, and how that has enabled exceptional results for their customers,” said Chiodi. “I look forward to helping Deepwatch continue to raise the bar for security operations and managed services as a member of their advisory board.”
