Information Security Terminology
What are Indicators of Compromise (IoCs)?
Indicators of compromise (IoCs) are different types of cybersecurity data that can alert organizations to attacks on their network, security breaches, malware infections, and security incidents. IoCs can include MD5 hashes, IP addresses, domains, URLs, signatures, and more. Security teams collect IoCs to enhance their ability to detect, triage, prioritize, and respond to threats to their network.
