What is Cyber Threat Hunting?

Cyber threat hunting is the practice of proactively searching for undetected cyber threats that lie dormant or run undetected on a network. Threat hunters proactively hunt for gaps in their businesses security posture and determine if a threat actor has breached their network. Businesses hire threat hunters to stay ahead of threats and drive a proactive security posture. Threat hunters dig into network data and traffic to find threat actors in their environment that may have slipped past endpoint security devices or were allowed in via phishing or other malicious tactics.
